Core Values

"The ultimate determinant in the struggle now going on for the world will not be bombs and rockets but a test of wills and ideas-a trial of spiritual resolve: the values we hold, the beliefs we cherish and the ideals to which we are dedicated"
- Ronald Reagan

Kingston High School has in place a set of core values that underpin the vision of the School. The values are unique to our School. They were developed keeping in mind the parents, staff, and students and inspired by the values embedded in the National Educational Policy, 2020.

We have defined five fundamental values using the acronym 'TILES'.

Trust is a firm belief in the reliability, ability, or strength of a person or object, which is core to any relationship or bond. At Kingston High, we seek to consistently build trust in every interaction between parents, staff, and students by conducting ourselves professionally and honestly. We believe in an open-door policy and accept responsibility and quickly correct ourselves when we make mistakes because trust helps to take equal ownership of both our success and challenges.

C. S. Lewis has said that "Integrity is doing the right thing, even when nobody is watching."
At Kingston High, we seek to give all students a clear understanding of the moral principles and virtues on which the School is built. We nurture in our students' honesty, forthrightness, and respect and hold ourselves to the highest standards both in the School and when they represent themselves as a part of the community in which they live.

"Keep love in your heart. A life without it is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead." Oscar Wilde.
We recognize the critical value of 'love' and its pivotal importance in the teachings of Jesus Christ. The value of 'love' also encompasses other core values of our School.

EMPATHY : "Treat others with care and compassion." Empathy means trying to understand other people's views or feelings and being supportive and caring towards them. Empathy is such an important word, especially as one looks at the world we live in today. It is woven deeply into the fabric of who we are as we demonstrate genuine interest, care, or concern for others. It is a cornerstone of being part of a community that treats one another with compassion, love, tenderness, and courtesy that unites us, regardless of our differences.

SERVICE : "Give your hands to serve and your hearts to love."— Mother Teresa.
Kingston High aims to develop "young men and women for others." We are committed to serving others, both within the four walls of the School and beyond. To that end, teachers emphasize cultivating individual student gifts, broadening students' understanding of the community and the world, and using our gifts to serve the community in which we live and work.

We believe that value education is an integral part of our School and the cornerstone on which we build our vision and underpin all that we do, and as Pope Francis said, "School then ends up being one big family. One where, together with our mothers and fathers, our grandparents, our teachers and friends, we learn to help one another, to share our good qualities, to give the best of ourselves, to work as a team and to pursue our dreams."
