FOOTPRINTS IN THE SANDS OF TIME
Greetings from Kingston High.
Today Kingston High stands as a testimony for what the Lord has done. It was after much deliberation that the name Kingston was chosen for the school. It means’ The King’s Settlement.’ Rightfully so, this would be the settlement of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and would continue to remain a blessing for generations to come. My dream is to see our children grow in wisdom and stature and in favour with God and all the people. May Lord Jesus Christ continue to bless the children and our staff as we grow in Kingston High.

Warm Wishes to Everyone
I BELIEVE THIS VERSE FROM THE BIBLE EXPLAINS IT ALL.‘For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good work, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10 ‘

I had no idea what God’s Plan for me was but as it is said ‘Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.’ Proverbs 19:21
Being born into a family of educationists and married into a family that had always nurtured a dream to start a School, God guided me and my family, to start a Preschool in 2009, called ‘Toddlers’ Zone’. Now we know how God plans things. Soon our passion and hard work was appreciated by parents associated with the school and we received a lot of love, support and encouragement from them. This meant that we were here to stay.
God had a bigger plan for us. With His special favour on us we started our very own K12 School, and we called it Kingston High.
I share a very special bond with all our students. Little kids have a charisma which draws me towards them. I treasure each and every moment I get to spend with the children. Children are precious and I am grateful to God for choosing me to be a part of His great plan.
I Praise and Thank God for Kingston High.

Foreword from the Principal
Welcome to Kingston High!
21st century education is evolving. In the past, education focused mainly on the goal, today focus is also on the process; Education was teacher centric, today it is student centric. This paradigm shift brought about by Globalization and rapid advances in Information and Technology, has seen the emergence of new pedagogies that understand the uniqueness of a child and aim at developing abilities that are inherent in him.
At Kingston High we understand the needs of the changing times and the importance of gearing our students to meet the demands of a global society. We believe that every child is an individual entity and that no two individuals are alike. It is our endeavour, to identify the abilities of a child and guide him through his strengths to reach his full potential. It is our endeavour to ignite the minds of children and arouse in them the love for learning and the desire to acquire new knowledge and be able to use it in real life situations successfully.
Through a well planned integrated curriculum and supporting co-curricular activities planned by a forward thinking, proactive Management and implemented by motivated and dedicated teachers we aim to achieve academic excellence in students, and instill in them positive attitude, a sound value system, social awareness and a sense of self worth.
Let us join hands and work towards a common goal – ‘Empowering Our Children’. Looking forward to working with you.
Regards
Mary Eltham
INFRASTRUCTURE
Classrooms
The centre of learning, with a teacher pupil ratio of 1:30, classrooms spread across three floors are large and spacious and have all necessary requirements that facilitate a favourable learning environment.
Library
The habit of reading must begin at home and continued in school. Our school library has innumerable books to cater to the needs of students of various age groups. Students are encouraged to read books in school and also take books home. Books range from storybooks, general knowledge, poetry, reference, informative and educational magazines and many more. The Library is regularly upgraded.
Laboratories
Physics, Chemistry & Biology
Learning by doing makes understanding a concept interesting and most importantly gets imprinted in one’s mind easily. Separate Physics, Chemistry & Biology laboratories are equipped with apparatus required to make learning of the subjects meaningful. Practical work is compulsory. Students carry out experiments under the guidance of able teachers, enabling them to observe, collect data and draw conclusions.
Computer Lab
Computer Studies begin from Grade 1 onwards. Our computer laboratory is equipped with the latest computers. The computer ratio is 1:2, providing all students the opportunity of e-learning.
Audio-Visual Room
To support learning in various subjects, students are taken to the AV Room for presentations and viewing of related videos. For recreation, children’s videos and educational programmes are viewed by our students.

A two bed clean airy room, with first aid equipment is always available.
SCHOOL POLICIES
Minimum Homework
With a student spending most of his waking hours in school and since the syllabus calls for hands on work in the class, minimum homework is given. There is a Homework Time Table. Students in the Lower Primary School do not take more than three subject books home everyday. Homework if given, is given on some days, on other days students’ books are sent for parent’s scrutiny. In Kindergarten very little work is sent home.
Light Bags
Since minimum homework is given, students keep most of the books in school and take home books required for study only, thus carrying light bags.
Equal Opportunity
The school conducts different programmes and every child is given the opportunity to participate in them. In given time students become enthusiastic participants in all activities.
Safety
Students’ safety is a priority in school. At any given time, there is active supervision in school and on field. CCTV cameras are installed. Sending of students home is carefully monitored. A lady attendant accompanies students in the School buses. No person without permission or without a proper ID is allowed into school.
Teacher- Student Relationship
There is mutual respect for each other. The teacher understands the abilities of every child and recognizes every student’s effort in the work he/she does, in academics as well as extra-curricular activities. There is no undue pressure on students to secure high marks, yet they are encouraged to work to the best of their abilities and are encouraged to maximize their potential. With this support students begin to trust their teachers. Trust begets confidence and confident learners are the ultimate goal of education at Kingston High.
Collaboration of Home and School
The Management, staff and parents work in unison for the betterment of students. Information is communicated effectively to parents through circulars, the UOLO App and Rubix App. The Rubix App gives parents information of their child’s attendance, homework, progress report and upcoming events. The school also collects feedback from parents on Open House Days held on the first Saturday of every month and Parent Teacher Meetings conducted twice a year at the end of each term to help the school serve its stakeholders better.

After Completing Four Years At The Kindergarten Level Students Now Step Into A More Structured Environment-the Primary School.
- The curriculum works on the principles of Howard Gardener’s Multiple Intelligences. It aims at teaching concepts rather than mere dealing with topics; Lessons are built on the knowledge a student already has, then proceeds to providing students with new knowledge and concludes with what the student has learnt.
- Students are encouraged to think and apply acquired knowledge in different situations, leaving little room for rote learning. Experiential Learning allows students to move away from the confines of the classroom to the vastness of the outdoors.
- Discussions, experimentation, hands on group and individual classroom activities, project work, field trips, form the basis on which a child’s acquisition of knowledge takes place. Exploring, observing and drawing conclusions enables students become active participants in the learning process and become confident, self –reliant and self-disciplined individuals.
- Assessments are conducted periodically to test conceptual understanding, applied thinking, English Language and Comprehension. The role of a teacher in this entire process is that of a facilitator who allows the child to progress on his own strength.
